Luigi Corneli’s extra virgin olive oil is produced exclusively from olives from the Corneli family’s organic olive grove located in San Vito in Monte, in the hills between Perugia and Orvieto, about 600 meters above sea level.
Because of its elevation, temperate climate and agronomic qualities of the soil, the area allows for high yields.
The oil originates from olive trees of the Moraiolo, Frantoio and Leccino varieties, typical cultivars of the Umbrian-Tuscan area.
The olives are harvested mainly by hand when the olives are not yet ripe, and processed within a few hours using artisanal processes so as not to alter the nutritional and organoleptic properties and aromatic heritage of the oil.
Extraction in the olive mill is done cold by centrifugation and storage in special stainless steel containers in Casa Corneli’s cellars.
Deep green in color, Luigi Corneli’s extra virgin olive oil is fruity on the nose with scents of walnut husk, vegetable notes of cut grass and arugula, and on the palate with spicy and bitter notes, intense but balanced.
Because of its unique characteristics, it is intended for consumers who prefer an oil with a strong, full-bodied flavor.
