Discovering the King of cheeses.




When you visit Montecoppe you can discover a unique dairy, where ancient and modern blend with the nature of the surrounding Boschi di Carrega Park creating incredible landscapes. The dairy, designed in 2016 by internationally renowned architect Guido Canali, is distinguished by its structure designed to particularly encourage its educational function. A system of balustrades raises a walkway that crosses the entire structure and then the Parmigiano Reggiano production rooms, allowing the whole thing to be visited from above, with respect for work, hygiene and safety.

You can choose between two types of visits, simple and comprehensive.

  • The simple tour includes a visit to the Dairy, the cheese store and a final tasting.
    Duration about 1 h 30 min (including tasting)
  • The full tour includes a visit to the stables, the dairy, the cheese store, and the final tasting.
    Duration about 2 h (including tasting)

Mode of visitation


  • Visits available ONLY by reservation of at least 24/48 hours for visits Monday through Friday.
  • For visits to the Saturday are required minimum of 6 people and a advance notice by the day of the preceding Wednesday.
  • For visits Sundays are required a minimum of 20 people and a advance notice minimum of 1 week.
  • Visits are conducted in Italian, English and Portuguese.
  • The visit is free for children up to 10 years old.

A 9 a.m. visit is recommended to witness the cheese making process
